Who this class is for
This continuing education workshop is designed for licensed massage therapists, bodyworkers, and movement professionals who want a clear, hands-on way to assess and address knee-related tissue imbalance using The Berry Method®.
The focus is on improving precision and sequencing so your work is more likely to hold, especially when the knee is acting as a compensation point rather than the true source of the pattern.
What this class addresses
The knee is influenced by muscular, fascial, and connective tissue relationships that extend well beyond the joint itself. When tension patterns persist, the knee often becomes a focal point for strain, compensation, and altered movement, even when the driver of the pattern is elsewhere.
This class trains you to recognize those relationships and work with them through precise, corrective contact rather than forceful approaches or symptom-chasing.
- Functional tissue relationships surrounding the knee and how they influence joint behavior
- Assessment strategies that reveal imbalance, load-sharing issues, and compensation
- Corrective techniques that restore balance and movement without overworking the joint
- Integration of whole-body patterns into knee-focused clinical decision-making
Building the knee from the inside out
A central part of this class is a hands-on clay modeling exercise in which each participant builds a three-dimensional model of the knee, starting with the bones and layering outward through connective tissue and muscle.
This process develops a tactile and spatial understanding of how structures relate to one another, how depth and orientation matter, and why precise contact is essential when working with the knee.
By physically constructing the knee, practitioners gain a clearer internal map that directly informs hands-on work. This supports greater accuracy, lighter touch, and more effective corrective technique during sessions.
Why The Berry Method®
The Berry Method® emphasizes balance, subtle correction, and respect for the body’s natural design. Instead of isolating structures, the work addresses how tissues relate, adapt, and communicate through movement and load.
This approach supports sequencing and precision so the body can reorganize with less resistance, rather than being pushed into change.
Class format and learning environment
This class is taught in a small-group, hands-on format that allows for detailed instruction, guided practice, and individualized feedback so you can refine touch, pressure, and precision.
- Anatomical and functional overview of the knee region and related tissue layers
- Clay modeling of the knee to build a three-dimensional understanding
- Demonstration and supervised practice of corrective techniques
- Opportunities to refine sequencing, contact quality, and clinical reasoning
