Continuing Education Classes : Sponsoring information to bring a class to your area
Basic Guidelines:
Your job is to aid in finding a space to have the class and to suggest lodging for myself and visiting students.
For me, lodging near class location and easy access to transportation to and from airport
The classroom environment....
Classroom should accommodate 1 massage table (therapists can bring)
per 2 students with working space around each.
For a joint/clay class, room should additionally accommodate one banquet
type table per 4 students with working space around each.( you
provide)
800 sq ft is a workable space (bigger is better), with adequate
ventilation and as much natural light as possible.
The room should have one blank wall or large screen on which
to project graphic images.
One banquet type table with nearby power supply to set up a
laptop and projector approximately 10-15 feet from screen.
We will require the space from 8:00 to 6:00 each day for set
up and closure.
These are advanced techniques and as such, I require that each
student must have received prior basic massage/bodywork training.
The California state basic is acceptable.
Facilities where courses are held are to be handicap
accessible. When a student calls and identifies himself or herself
as disabled, instructor/sponsor will discuss their needs and
how to best accommodate them in the classroom. Student must
give instructor/sponsor notification of special needs prior
to the beginning of the class allowing adequate time for reasonable
allowances to be made. Allowances for special needs will be
met as long as they do not impose an "undue burden"
on the instructor as listed in the ADA.
I do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion,
sex or national origin.
Facilities where courses are held require adequate
parking, clean restrooms, and nearby restaurants.
About the $$$
Cost: I have travel expenses that need to be addressed and paid for at the time of purchase. What has worked in the past is we offer and promote the class approximately 2 months ahead. There will be an early registration discount. As an example, a two day class is often offered at $275 with an early registration fee of $225. This can inspire folks to sign up early so that approximately a month out we can evaluate potential attendance.
You will receive the class at a discount or no cost. Does bringing a class to your area sound not to diffiocult?
To continue discussing coordination of classes in your area,
please reply with your questions and we can continue the dialogue.

Other useful information:
Assisting promotion of the class. As an example, I have articles
and press releases we can offer to a local publications that
serves to stir up interest.
A tasteful flyer helps, though "word
of mouth " works the best.
