Understanding the Core...one muscle at a time.

Correcting and re-balancing Pelvic regional muscular components.

Verona, Va...November 6-8

This class provides a unique approach to correcting the muscular distortions associated with problems in the 'foundation' of the body, the core, the Pelvis. Problems in this area can be major contributing factors in issues throughout the body. The class includes both a regional and specific in-depth focus on the specific anatomy influencing this important and common behind the scenes area of concern, our clients pelvis.

IMPORTANT!!!!
PRIOR TO CLASS each student is required to build a clay pelvis and bring it to class, this is an important step in the learning process!!! I recommend Van Aken Plastalina clay.

At class, you are required to bring a plastic model for the class on which to form and attach your handmade muscles, (your previously made clay model is not stable enough to withstand this procedure). Contact Joey and Sandie for more information.(see below)

As each muscle, tendon and ligament is assembled and attached, techniques to stretch, correct and manipulate that specific muscle will be presented, practiced, and reviewed.

Get ready to explore the workings of the Pelvis ....

We will presents techniques and protocols that include:

  • How to specifically reposition misplaced tissue

  • How to identify and release adhesions within soft tissue structures and layers

  • How to quickly correct soft tissue distortion

  • How to recognize and address adaptive compensation

  • How to decipher the clues the body is revealing

  • Understanding its role in the health and function of the elbow and wrist

How many of your clients experience ongoing core imbalances and tensions? Consider the possibility that a distortion, adhesion, and/or spasm within the Quadratus Lumborum is creating a tension that the upper trap is responding to....maybe the Trapezius is an innocent bystander, simply in a tug-o-war response with the Quadratus Lumborum !!!!!

The learning process is intended to aid you in...

  • Developing and heightening your awareness of the many associations within the body, for example... the relationships of structure to function to repair to maintenance.

  • Increasing and enhancing your tactile vision...the ability to not only target a specific muscle but to see it in your minds eye.
